Connecticut Employment of Minors in Restaurants & Food Service | |||
![]() |
Product Description
When a restaurant in the state of Connecticut employs minors, the restaurant needs to supply information to those minors about time and hour restrictions that apply to them. This information should actually be posted in a public section of the workplace, such as an employee break room, as long as minors are employed. There are specific regulations that apply only to the food service industry when it comes to employing minors. Therefore, it is important that all employers are aware of these restrictions, if they work in the food services industry and employ minors.
Plus, all employers are required by the Connecticut Department of Labor, Wage and Workplace Standards Division to have a statement of age/working paper for each employee that is under the age of 18. No person under the age of 16 is allowed to be employed in restaurants or public dining rooms in any county in Connecticut.
